Jim Barry Wines Partners with McGrath Foundation

We are proud to be part of a significant partnership between Jim Barry Wines and the McGrath Foundation. Every bottle sold from our Jim Barry Nurse Series range — including Rosé, Riesling, Shiraz, and Cabernet Sauvignon — helps fund specialist McGrath Cancer Care Nurses, who support individuals and families experiencing the impact of cancer.

Our lives have been deeply affected by cancer, and we are committed to using what we have to do what we can for those navigating their own journey.

While we at Jim Barry have long supported the work of McGrath nurses and the vital care they provide to Australian families, our connection to cancer is a personal one. Olivia-Hoffmann Barry, wife of third-generation winemaker Tom Barry, has been intrinsically connected to cancer care through her parents — her father, Dr Clive Hoffmann, a breast cancer surgeon for 35 years, and her mother Annemarie, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2020.

“Our family has actively fundraised for cancer charities for years. With my mum’s diagnosis, this cause became even more personal, and we’ve thought deeply about how we can help. Creating a wine series that gives back is one way we can support families as they face cancer — using what we do best.”

The wines feature a striking pink striped capsule and a label showcasing a female cricketer – a nod to our iconic Cabernet Sauvignon, The Cover Drive – and a fitting tribute to the McGrath Foundation, established by the late Jane McGrath and her husband Glenn in 2005.

With a deeply personal connection to cancer in our family, creating this series of wines allows us to raise both vital funds and awareness.

We are honoured to partner with one of Australia’s most trusted charities, the McGrath Foundation, and we invite you to be part of this journey by purchasing a bottle through Dan Murphy’s or our online shop.
