We (the Barry family) are proud to be part ofasignificant partnership between Jim Barry Wines and the McGrath Foundation. Every bottle sold of ourJim Barry Nurse Series range, which includes a Rosé, Riesling, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignonwill help fund specialist McGrath Breast Care Nurses, who support the 1 in 7 Australians diagnosed with breast cancer each year. Our lives have been touched by breast cancer and we are committed to using what we have, to do what we can, for those fighting their own battle.

While we at Jim Barry are big supporters of breast care nurses and what they do for thousands of Australian families, we also have a very personal connection to the cancer. Olivia-Hoffmann Barry, wife of Jim Barry Wines third generation winemaker, Tom Barry has for many years been intrinsically linked to breast cancer through her parents, Dr Clive Hoffmann, who was a breast cancer surgeon for 35 years, and her own mother, Annemarie was also diagnosed with breast cancer in 2020.

“Our family has actively fundraised for breast cancer charities for years. As the diagnosis of my mum has once again brought breast cancer back into our lives, it’s made us all think about how we can help raise money for thousands of Australian families as they navigate breast cancer with what we do so well every day, and that is wine.”

The wines showcase a striking pink striped capsule and label featuring a female cricketer – based on our popular Cabernet Sauvignon, The Cover Drive – a fitting label for the McGrath Foundation founded by the late Jane McGrath and her husband Glenn in 2005.

With a very personal connection to breast cancer in our family, creating this series of wines allows us not only to raise vital funds, but also awareness of this insidious disease.
