2020 Watervale Gardeners '1954 Plantings' Shiraz

Solid purple red in colour….. with plum, Christmas cake spice, dark drinking choc, and a hint of star anise swirling up out of the glass. This is a lovely mouthful of juicy Cherry plum fruit Shiraz - with chewy in a good way tannins - that rolls out to a nicely balanced ‘top end of middleweight’ finish. This ‘1954 Plantings’ is a truly great all rounder, ready to go right now, looking for an invite to a summer BBQ or winter Sunday roast lunch!

GARDENER: Francis Levi Burgess

Francis Levi Burgess - besides being a well known viticulturalist - enlisted in 1916 with the 3rd Australian Light Horse and survived the Battle of Beersheba - regarded as the last of the great cavalry charges.
